             Youth is a valuable asset of any country. National development and progress is largely dependent on the active participation of youth. The economic, social and cultural environment of a nation is built around the talent, creativity, courage and talent of the youth. Like other countries in the world, the youth of Bangladesh are the future leaders, policy makers and decision makers of the nation. The most promising and productive segment of the population is the youth. The Directorate of Youth Development under the Ministry of Youth and Sports is making relentless efforts to transform this unorganized, job-seeking youth group into a well-organized, orderly and productive force.

             According to the National Youth Policy, the age group of 18-35 years of Bangladesh is called as youth. The population of this age group is one-third of the total population of the country, which is about 53 million. Youth engagement is very important for the development of our country even considering the labor force supply and numbers. Therefore, in order to contribute to the mainstream of national development, the potential, self-confident, creative and productive part of the country's population, by awakening a constructive mindset and sense of responsibility among them, in order to create a favorable environment for them to engage in socio-economic activities of the country as an orderly workforce, the Youth Development Directorate has adopted and implemented practical programs since its inception. is doing The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh created the Ministry of Youth Development in 1978, which was later renamed as the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the aim of transforming the job-seeking unproductive youth into well-organized, disciplined and productive forces. The Directorate of Youth Development was created in 1981 to implement the activities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports at the field level.

              By bringing the unemployed youth back to the main stream of development and increasing their participation in the nation building, the youth are provided with modern training, after the training, loans are provided to the beneficiaries of the project. Since its inception, the Directorate of Youth Development has been making relentless efforts for the overall welfare of the youth of the country through various programs. Through the efforts of the Directorate of Youth Development, about 36 lakh youth have already received training, many of whom have gained the ability to take a respectable social position in the country and abroad.
